About Li'l Bruised Bird
Li'l Bruised Bird came to be from my own personal trauma story. I experienced sexual abuse at age 4 from my best buddy and family friend. I turned from a sunny, happy, active and joyful singing child, into a dark curled up ball of pain and grief. I cried over everything, moved little, drank little water, and didn't eliminate properly. After several months of this, I started showing up with an overall body rash and low grade fevers. I was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis (JRA), and hospitalized 100 miles away from home. I then went on to live a dark and depressed life, with the consequences of chronic inflammation, resulting in 29 surgeries over my lifetime, including many joint replacements. I was depressed and thought of killing myself every day, but never attempted it.

Our vision is to reach many of you who have, or continue to struggle, in your life experiences. Many of you have fought with unwanted behaviors, carry ongoing trauma wounds, or need encouragement in other health, wellness, or less than desired life or performance skills. Services are offered to remediate and support healthy changes around issues that still affect your lives, businesses, and relationships.

About Li'l Bruised Bird continued:
I needed help to get dressed until I was in the twelfth grade, when an Occupational Therapist helped me learn to be independent with my self care. I never thought I would be able to leave home, go to college, live on my own, or get married. I certainly never dreamed I would earn an Associate Degree as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant. I successfully worked as a Department Head at a SNF and then moved to a local hospital and worked there in many Occupational Therapy settings for 25 years. In 2012 I transitioned to successfully running my own private practice in CranioSacral Therapy and Osteopathic Bodywork for 20+ years. I became a Certified Infant Massage and Accredited Ta'i Chi Chih Instructor, developed and closed a nonprofit organization which taught Infant Massage to needy populations, including Navy service members.
I went on to finish my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, earned a Certificate in Domestic Violence Interventions and Substance Abuse Counseling, and became a Certified Mediator.
Because of my joint damage from the JRA, after 20 years of private practice, I pivoted to less physical work. I had completed a Certification as a Health Coach, and subsequently added more skills to become a Certified Integrative Mental Health Coach, specializing in wellness and Trauma Work. I have completed numerous Brainspotting trainings, including Phase 1, Phase 2, Expansion, Soul Spotting, Brainspotting for Addictions, Brainspotting for Shame, and BodySpotting. I also trained and earned my Certification as a Positive Discipline Parenting Educator to expand my coaching to parents and children. I continue to do ongoing education for coaching, BrainSpotting, trauma, and health related subjects.
With the help of the God of Heaven and His Son Jesus,
loving family and friends, and Brainspotting, these all have brought back my song!
